Cruise operations at KMSB Terminal 2

Kimberley Marine Support Base (KMSB) provides modern, tide-independent berthing and vessel services at Terminal 2 within the Port of Broome.

The floating wharf provides 24/7 access through Broome’s large tidal range and can accommodate vessels up to 348 metres LOA, giving cruise operators greater flexibility around arrival, departure and alongside operations.

Terminal 2 supports cruise vessels of varying sizes, including large overnight calls. In its first year of operation, KMSB welcomed a growing number of cruise vessels, including the 288.6 metre Crown Princess, which completed an overnight berth at Terminal 2.

Passengers can embark and disembark directly onto the wharf, with coaches able to access the wharf for passenger transfers. Cruise vessels can also access high-flow fuel bunkering, potable water and brine, together with provisioning, waste services and other shore-side operational support.

The facility includes a berth pocket of approximately -15.0 metres LAT and is a designated Biosecurity Entry Point, supporting eligible international vessel arrivals.

KMSB works directly with cruise operators and agents to coordinate vessel, passenger and shore-side requirements for each call.
