Understanding the need for a half-day Wet Tropics rainforest experience for the cruise industry, Cairns Rainforest Estate was purchased in May 2026 to deliver excellence and flexibility to cruise guests coming to the region.

This property and experience is exclusively available to guests booked through the cruise lines shore excursion programs. This commitment and exclusivity provide the cruise lines the opportunity to create truly unique and “non googleable” experiences that can be customized to suit their specific guest profile. No access to walk ups or non-prebooked guests will be possible again adding to the exclusivity of this location.

With their 20-seater 4WD truck on hand, guests will be picked up and provided exceptional service and knowledge from the moment they leave the pier ensuring the experience will be a highlight of their cruise.

Guests enjoy privileged access to a spectacular rainforest environment where they will explore hidden walking trails on a 3km hike of the rainforest as well as a stroll of the estates hidden tropical fruit orchard featuring more than 600 rare and exotic tropical fruit trees to learn about the different species of grown. Following the walk, spend some time in the tasting shed to savour seasonal tastings of tropical fruits.   

Perfectly positioned near the Barron Falls Skyrail terminal, Cairns Rainforest Estate offers seamless connections with some of the region’s most iconic attractions. Guests can arrive and depart via a combination of the custom 4WD transport, the historic Scenic Railway, or the world-renowned Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, with opportunities to enjoy free time in the charming rainforest village of Kuranda and convenient pre- and post-tour connections.

The estate proudly serves as an important wildlife sanctuary and ecological corridor for the endangered Southern Cassowary. Sightings of these magnificent creatures are a genuine possibility throughout the year and the resident family love to come out and say hello as they forage their safe and beautiful home.
