PR and Communications

Jill is the owner and Managing Director of Barking Owl Communications – a boutique Sydney based PR agency assisting companies in the tourism industry with strategic and creative responses to their communications issues.

Jill has worked closely with Australian Cruise Association for many years driving our communications program and working with our members and partners such as CLIA and New Zealand CA.

With more than 20 years experience in marketing and corporate communications and issues management, she has worked in both local and global markets (including 11 years in the USA). Jill previously worked with leading global communications firm, Edelman, where she managed their Tourism Practice from the company’s Chicago head office and was subsequently Managing Director of the Australian operation.

Jill has extensive experience in developing and implementing communications programs for the tourism industry and has worked across a range of tourism sectors including Cruise (Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises), Destinations (National and State Tourism Organisations), Online Services, Aviation, Adventure Tourism and Hotels.

Jill is a member of the PRIA and ASTW and holds a BA (Communications) from the University of Technology.
