The thriving city of Portland is steeped in history, and as Victoria's birthplace, it also boasts the State's oldest European settlement. With a population of approximately 10,000, the city is based around the picturesque Portland Bay, which features one of the deepest international ports in southern Australia.

Portland is the gateway to the world famous Great Ocean Road. Cruise ships can berth on the 1.2km long Lee Breakwater within the sheltered port for memorable half and full-day shore excursions.

Portland is the only international port that can claim such close proximity to Australia’s iconic Twelve Apostles, as well as the acclaimed Coonawarra wine region to the west, and the stunning Grampians National Park to the north.

These draw-card attractions are all within a 2 hour drive of Portland, making them a realistic day trip destination.
