The 2015 Cruise Down Under Conference titled “Uniting Australia’s Cruise Future” was held from the 2nd - 4th September at the Hilton Darwin, Northern Territory.
A record number of speakers were announced for the conference including; Claudius Docekal, Director, Deployment, Destinations & Charter Sales, Azamara Club Cruises, Dwain Wall, COO WorldCruise.cn, Rich Pruitt, Vice President, Safety and Environmental Stewardship, Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., Darius Mehta, Director Land Programs, Silversea and Michael Hackman, Executive Vice President, Marine Operations & New Ship Building, Star Cruises.
Carnival Australia joined a number of local experts in both plenary and workshop sessions over 2 ½ days.
The program explored a range of topics including:-
- State of the Industry, Emerging Markets (including China) and Passenger Mix
- The Destination, Itineraries and Land Programs
- Ports and the Environmental Footprint of Cruises
- Logistics, Supplies and Provisions

The 18th Annual 2014 Cruise Down Under Conference “Beyond gateway ports – Navigating new destinations” sponsored by Tourism Western Australia, Fremantle Ports, City of Fremantle and Experience Perth was held from 3-5 September in Perth.
The list of keynote speakers secured for our conference was again outstanding. We welcomed Crystal Morgan from Princess Cruises, Colleen Crisp from Fred Olsen Line and Steven Young, from Carnival UK. These reputable speakers addressed the current industry trends and discussed the future developments beyond the traditional gateway ports. A range of local experts complemented the program in panel and workshop sessions.
The key industry conference offered both members and non members the opportunity to further their knowledge of the industry and gain a first-hand understanding of this continuously expanding market. It also provided the opportunity to network with cruise industry colleagues and extend contacts.

The 2013 Cruise Down Under Conference was held on the 11th-13th September in Cairns and continues to be the key cruise industry event in Australia.
Three keynote speakers presented at the conference titled "Cruising ahead in a competitive environment".
John Tercek, Vice President, Commercial and New Business Development for Royal Caribbean Cruises, Ellen Lynch, Director Excursions for Holland America Line and Sarina Bratton, Founder of Orion Expedition Cruises and Entreprenuer provided insights into how we can continue to deliver and expand in a competitive market.
The conference, spronsored by Tourism Queensland, Ports North and Tourism Tropical North Queensland, included a range of plenary sessionas as well as workshops and industry gatherings.
The conference was open to members and non members of CDU and offered the opportunity to further their knowledge of the industry and meet key cruise executives.

The 2012 conference, titled "Connecting Experiences - from ship to shore", was held in Hobart at the Hotel Grand Chancellor from the 29th-31st August.

The 2011 conference, titled "Getting Regions Onboard", was held in Newcastle from the 24th-26th August.
Capt. Cees Deelstra, Vice President Nautical Operations for Holland America Line, David Vass, Vice President Destination and Enrichment Programs for The World and Gavin Smith, Managing Director for Royal Caribbean Cruises Australia, presented the keynote speeches.
The conference had a global, national and regional focus that discussed the current cruise shipping trends and the effects on our growing cruise sector.
The conference was sponsored by Cruise Hunter and Tourism NSW.

The 2010 Conference, held in Brisbane from the 25th-27th August was a great success with a record number of 119 delegates attending.
Keynote guest speakers included Bruce Krumrine (Princess Cruises), Craig Milan (Royal Caribbean Cruises) and Lisa Bolton (Aurora Expeditions).
The event was sponsored by Tourism Queensland, Portside Wharf and Brisbane Marketing.

The 2009 Cruise Down Under Conference was held from the 26th - 28th August at the Stamford Grand Hotel, Adelaide.
95 delegates from Australia, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia.
Guest speakers from around the wold looked at the future of the industry, tourism product and port infrastructure.

The 2008 CDU Conference and AGM was held at The Langham Hotel Melbourne from the 27th-29th August 2008.
The conference featured three International keynote speakers from Princess Cruises, P&O UK and Fred Olsen line, along with key domestic presenters.
The conference was open to both members and non members of CDU and is the key cruise industry event in Australia.
The conference is the perfect forum to obtain the latest cruise industry information and network with key personnel.
